Late-night golf cart accident leaves man dead in Marshall County

PLYMOUTH — A 64-year-old man died in a golf cart crash early Sunday morning in Marshall County.

The Sheriff’s Department received a call about the crash shortly after 1 a.m. Investigators say James Galt, Jr. had left Pretty Lake Golf Club in a golf cart when he drove off an embankment and into an asphalt parking lot.

Galt was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities say alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
