WARSAW — The deadline for filing for the Etna Green clerk-treasurer has been extended, according to Kosciusko County Republican Party Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan.

The revised appointment date is Friday, July 25 at 3 p.m. at the county clerk’s office in the Justice Building.

Anyone who wants to file for the position has until 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 22.

Eligible applicants must be residents of the town of Etna Green and Republicans in good standing. Declarations of candidacy and statements of economic interests will be available at the Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court office, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw.

Ragan’s phone number is 574-265-1430.

The most recent clerk-treasurer, Barbara Wagoner, resigned June 30, effective immediately.

Wagoner was appointed by Ragan May 22 to be the new Etna Green clerk-treasurer, effective June 1. That appointment came after Patti Cook resigned from the position, effective May 31, citing work conditions. Cook had served as clerk-treasurer since January 2019.

Wagoner was one of two people who had filed for the position, with the other being Candice Smith.

The position is Ragan’s to appoint because there is only one precinct committee person available for the traditional caucus.
