She was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:20 p.m. Nov. 10 on a $5,250 preliminary bond.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Nov. 10 a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic dispute. Prior to arriving on scene, the deputy spoke with Austin who said he and Jamie were arguing when things turned physical. Austin said he restrained Jamie on the bed to prevent her from breaking some of their possessions. Austin said upon releasing Jamie, she grabbed a .22 caliber revolver, aimed it at his face and fired five rounds through the bedroom window. Austin said four of the rounds hit the rear passenger wheel on his Jeep.

When the deputy arrived at the scene, he read Jamie her Miranda rights and she agreed to speak to law enforcement officers. She said she was upset because she believed Austin was speaking with other women. During the incident, Austin held her in a chokehold that restricted her breathing.

Jamie said Austin released her from the chokehold when a woman entered the room. Jamie said she took possession of a .22-caliber revolver and shot five rounds out of the bedroom window. Jamie stated as a convicted felon, she knew it was illegal for her to possess a firearm.

Jamie said she discarded the revolver in a nearby trash can and exited the back door of the residence. Jamie said Austin followed behind her, grabbed her around the neck for a second time and threw her to ground, according to the affidavit.

The deputy spoke with the woman who confirmed she saw Austin grab Jamie by the neck and throw her to the ground.
