Warsaw

The Knights of Columbus will be holding an "All You Can Eat Fish Fry" featuring Hand Breaded Alaskan Pollack on Friday, May 9th.  The fry will take place at the K of C Hall on Biomet Drive from 4:30pm until 7:00pm. The cost is $7.00 for adults, $3.00 for kids 6 - 12, and under 6 - FREE!

Benefit for Darren Baier: Darren is a long time Koscuisko resident who has been diagnosed with cancer and has been unable to work. The Benefit is on May 17th from 4-7 at Knights of Columbus across for Biomet on Bell Dr. in Warsaw. There will be lots of food, Moonwalk, Entertainment, and raffles for a new Grill, Golf outings, Spa treatments, Home decor, and more.     

On Thursday, May 22nd the Warsaw High School Band will be hosting a Taste of
the Town event, beginning at 6:30 P.M., followed by the Jazz Café @ 7:30 P.M with performances from members of the Warsaw Middle and High School Jazz Bands and featuring the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Woodwind Quintet.  Various restaurants throughout the community will host a “Taste of the Town” event showcasing unique foods and/or beverages from their businesses.  Tickets to this event are $5.00.  Tickets will be available from any member of the Warsaw High School Band and the Senior Center.  All proceeds will benefit the Warsaw High School Band. The Warsaw High School Performing Arts Center offers free parking and is handicapped accessible. On Saturday, May 10th, children ages 6 to 16 can meet and train with their local law enforcement officers.  The event will take place from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Kosciusko County Justice Building.  Kids can participate in self-defense tactics, crime scene investigation, tour the jail, see a firearms demonstration, stun gun demonstration, and more.  Speakers include Kosciusko County Sheriff Rockey Goshert and Warsaw Chief of Police Perry Hunter.  The event is sponsored by the Warsaw Morning Optimist.

Moms, as you think of shopping, are you sick of too low and too tight fashions? Daughters, do you desire to be truly beautiful? The Secret Keeper Girl Bod Squad Tour created by Dannah Gresh is the perfect fit! This jam-packed event features a fashion show, Gotee recording artist Stephanie Smith, and Biblical teaching about the media and true beauty. The event will be held on Friday, May 16th at 6:30 p.m. at Warsaw Community Church, 2300 Ranch Road, Warsaw. The 113th Army Band “Dragoons” return to Warsaw for a Concert at Center Lake Park from 7-8:30 PM on July 4th.  The 113th Army Band is the second oldest Army Band in active duty. The band was formed on July 8, 1840 as the Band, First Regiment of Dragoons, earning the band’s official nickname, “Dragoons”. The band has earned 25 campaign participation credits, ranging from the Indian Wars in 1855 to the end of World War II. Another historical moment for the band was a performance in President Lincoln’s second inaugural parade. In 1940, the band was reorganized and designated as the Band, First Armored Regiment. Disbanding in 1943, only to be reactivated 13 years later in 1956, the Dragoons were designated as the 113th Army Band. In 1970, the band consolidated with the 158th Army Band. Today, the Dragoons serve the United States Armor Center at Fort Knox, while participating in events throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. The Dragoons are comprised of a ceremonial band, concert band, rock band, jazz ensemble, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, trombone quartet, and piano player.  Syracuse

The Alzheimer's Association offers support groups for care givers of persons with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias.  The meetings are held in Syracuse on the 4th Thursday of every month at 2:00pm.  The group meets at the Calvary United Methodist Church, located at 801 South Huntington Street.  For more information, please call David at (574) 457-3778 or the Alzheimer's Association at 1-800-272-3900.

North Webster

The North Webster Community Public Library is providing a Certified Massage Therapist Saturday, May 10th from 12-3. Mike Oberg is offering his skills at a reduced rate for the library. Mother's Day is just around the corner; this is your opportunity to treat the mother in your life or come on in and pamper yourself!

The North Webster Community Public Library is having a "Hands On Science Fun" program for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade Saturday, May 17th from 2-3. This exciting event will be about Bugs!
 
The North Webster Community Public Library is offering a free program Saturday, May 24th from 11-12. Author Dale Sporleder will be discussing his book 124 Years Before the Navy Mast-The Patten Family. This is a book about the Patten Family history of the Navy's largest family of eight brothers and their father and also a military history of World War II. A book signing will follow the presentation.

Huntertown

On Saturday, May 10th, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, don't miss the "Scrapbook Extravaganza".  The event will take place at The Third Place in Huntertown.  Ticket includes breakfast, lunch, dessert, snacks, drinks, door prizes, raffles items, and more. Bring 3 non-perishable pantry items for the foodbank, and get 1 free raffle ticket. Don't scrapbook? Come and shop from our vendors from 11:00am-1:00pm.
